MADiSON is a first-person psychological horror game developed by Argentine studio Bloodious Games. It launched in July 2022 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with a Nintendo Switch version following in August 2022.
You play as Luca, a teenager who receives an instant camera for his sixteenth birthday. The camera once belonged to a serial killer, and through it the killer's spirit tries to use Luca to complete a dark ritual.
The camera is your main tool. Taking and developing photos reveals objects and paths that cannot be seen with the naked eye, and it also helps drive away demonic entities. You have no weapons, so survival depends on careful exploration.
Puzzles drive progress from one area to the next. The game is single-player and built around tension, sound design, and jump scares rather than combat.
Its settings range from subterranean tunnels and gloomy churches to long, dimly lit hallways, each designed to build dread. Development began in 2016, and an early demo released in 2017 drew strong attention before the full launch. The game later won several awards from gaming publications, with critics praising its puzzles and steady tension.
It suits horror fans who prefer puzzle-heavy, defenseless experiences in the style of Layers of Fear.
