Medal of Honor is a first-person shooter published by Electronic Arts and released on October 12, 2010, for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. It rebooted the long-running Medal of Honor series, moving away from World War II and into the modern war in Afghanistan.
The single-player campaign was developed by EA's Danger Close studio, while the multiplayer was built by DICE, the studio behind the Battlefield series. The campaign puts you in the boots of Tier 1 Operators, an elite special operations unit, alongside U.S. Army Rangers and aviation crews.
EA states the game was developed with input from real Tier 1 Operators. Missions alternate between precise, stealthy special forces operations and larger, heavier firefights with Rangers, plus sequences such as helicopter gunship support. The story focuses on the soldiers themselves and the pressure of high-stakes missions.
The original release also included online multiplayer modes designed by DICE. Because the game is now more than a decade old, check the current status of online services before buying if multiplayer is important to you. The single-player campaign remains fully playable.
