MENACE is a turn-based tactical RPG developed by Overhype Studios, the studio behind Battle Brothers, and published by Hooded Horse. It entered Early Access on Steam for Windows PC on February 5, 2026.

You command a Republic Marine Corps strike force aboard the strike cruiser TCRN Impetus, sent to the isolated Wayback system. What begins as a simple pacification mission soon reveals a strange new threat, and with communications to the Core Worlds cut off, every decision falls to you.

Distress calls arrive from planet to planet, and you choose which to answer, which resources to commit and when your troops are ready. Operations are not single fights: each one is a branching chain of missions across a whole world, so planning ahead matters as much as winning each battle.

Between missions you train infantry squads, fit them with a large range of equipment and field tanks and walkers. Local factions, from pirate warlords and corporations to criminal groups, react to your choices, and good relations unlock favors such as intel, hacking support, vehicle repair teams and advanced tech.

Its Steam page lists Steam Achievements, Trading Cards and Cloud saves, and the game is playable in 13 languages, including English, French, German, Japanese and Simplified Chinese. Full audio is available in English.

The game is single-player only. It suits fans of XCOM-style tactics, Battle Brothers veterans and players who enjoy long campaigns where squad management and faction politics shape every battle.
