Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is a stealth action game developed and published by Konami. It is a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (2004) and was released on August 28, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

The story is set in 1964, at the height of the Cold War. You play as Naked Snake, a special forces operative dropped alone into the Soviet jungle to rescue a scientist and stop a new weapon. The remake keeps the original plot, cutscenes, and voice performances, but rebuilds the world with modern graphics and 3D audio.

Survival is part of the stealth. You hunt and gather food to keep your stamina up, treat wounds with the Cure menu, and swap camouflage and face paint to blend into grass, mud, and trees. Guards react to noise, footprints, and movement, so careful planning matters more than firepower.

The remake adds a modern control scheme with a free third-person camera, while a Legacy Style option recreates the feel of the original top-down camera and controls. Boss fights against the Cobra Unit return, and you can approach most of them in more than one way.

Metal Gear Solid Delta suits players who enjoy slow, tactical stealth, a cinematic spy story, and games that reward patience and experimentation. Newcomers can start here without playing the earlier Metal Gear games, since Snake Eater is the first chapter in the series timeline.
