Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise is a per-user subscription that provides the full desktop Office apps for larger organizations. It was known as Office 365 ProPlus until April 2020 and, unlike the business plans, has no 300-user cap.
Each user gets Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote, with Access also available on Windows PCs. The apps can be installed on up to five PCs or Macs, five tablets, and five phones per user, and every user receives 1 TB of OneDrive storage.
The enterprise plan adds management capabilities aimed at IT teams. These include shared computer activation for terminal servers and Remote Desktop environments, advanced deployment and update control, and management through tools such as Group Policy and Microsoft Intune. Those features make it a better fit than Apps for Business when you need centralized control over many devices.
The "CSP" label means it is sold through Microsoft's Cloud Solution Provider partner program, usually on monthly or annual terms. Like Apps for Business, it focuses on the apps and does not include Exchange email, SharePoint, or Teams, which come with Microsoft 365 E3 and similar suites.
