Office 365 Home is Microsoft's family subscription for Office, launched in 2013. In 2020, Microsoft renamed it Microsoft 365 Family, and codes sold as Office 365 Home today generally activate that plan. It is designed for households that want the full Office apps and cloud storage for several people under one subscription.
The plan can be shared with up to six people. Each person gets their own account, their own 1 TB of OneDrive cloud storage, and access to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote on Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Android. Each person can install the apps on multiple devices and stay signed in on up to five at the same time.
Beyond the core apps, the subscription includes extras such as Microsoft Defender for online security, Clipchamp for video editing, and premium features in the Office mobile apps. In many markets, Microsoft has also added Copilot AI features to the plan. Because it is a subscription, the apps are always kept up to date.
Office 365 Home is not a one-time purchase. Codes usually cover 12 or 15 months, and you can stack codes to extend an existing subscription. Make sure you are buying the Family (Home) plan rather than Personal, which covers only one person.
