Microsoft Outlook 2019 is the standalone version of Outlook from the Office 2019 family, released in September 2018. It is a one-time-purchase desktop app for managing email, calendars, contacts, and tasks on a Windows PC, without buying the full Office suite or a Microsoft 365 subscription.
Outlook 2019 connects to most email services, including Outlook.com, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft 365 business mailboxes, Gmail, and other IMAP or POP accounts. You can manage several accounts in one place, use the Focused Inbox to separate important messages, and schedule meetings with the built-in calendar.
Other useful features include rules for automatically sorting mail, search folders, shared calendars when connected to Exchange, and integration with other Office apps you may already own. It is a good fit for users who need a capable desktop email client but do not need Word, Excel, or PowerPoint.
The license is perpetual and covers one PC. Note that Microsoft ended support for Office 2019 products, including Outlook 2019, on October 14, 2025. The app still works, but it no longer receives security updates, and connections to some Microsoft 365 services may be limited over time.
