Microsoft Visio Standard 2021 is a desktop application for creating flowcharts, org charts, floor plans, network diagrams, timelines and other business diagrams. It is a perpetual licence, so you pay once and there is no subscription. The feature set is fixed at the 2021 release. 2011 Microsoft's comparison lists Standard templates for flowcharts, schedules (timeline, calendar, Gantt, PERT), basic network diagrams, maps and floor plans, business diagrams (org chart, TQM, cause and effect) and block diagrams.
Professional adds engineering, software and database templates, BPMN and other flowchart types, and data linking. If you need UML, BPMN validation or live data-linked diagrams, Standard will not cover it.
Microsoft's lifecycle pages list a retirement date of October 13, 2026 for Visio 2021 and Visio LTSC 2021. After that date these products no longer receive updates, security fixes or technical support. 2007 The software will still install and run.
