My Friendly Neighborhood is a survival horror adventure game developed by brothers John and Evan Szymanski and published by DreadXP. It launched on PC on July 18, 2023, and arrived on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One on July 17, 2025.
The story centers on The Friendly Neighborhood, a once popular Saturday morning puppet show whose studio closed years ago. One night the old studio starts broadcasting again, and repairman Gordon is sent to shut the signal down. Inside, he finds the puppet cast awake and far from friendly.
Gameplay follows classic survival horror structure. You explore interconnected buildings, collect keys and tools, solve environmental puzzles and manage limited ammunition. Puppets can be knocked down and then taped up to keep them out of the fight, which makes resource management part of every encounter.
The tone mixes genuine tension with goofy humor. Instead of heavy gore, the game relies on unsettling felt characters, odd dialogue and a bright children’s TV look that slowly turns creepy. It is a single-player experience with no multiplayer modes.
Its pacing mixes quiet exploration with sudden encounters, in the style of classic survival horror games. It suits fans of older Resident Evil style games, puzzle-driven horror and players who like scares with a strong sense of personality.
