What is Neo Cab?

Neo Cab is a narrative adventure and visual novel developed by Chance Agency and published by Fellow Traveller. It released on Windows and Nintendo Switch on October 3, 2019, after an Apple Arcade launch in September 2019, and also runs on macOS.

You play as Lina, one of the last human drivers in Los Ojos, a city where automated cars are taking over. On her first night in town, her friend Savy disappears, and Lina must earn money, find a place to stay, and look for answers.

Each fare is a conversation. Passengers range from anarchist punks to corporate workers, and getting them to open up takes the right mix of honesty and empathy. You also manage Lina's rating, battery charge, and money to stay on the road.

A FeelGrid wristband shows Lina's mood. As her emotions grow stronger, some dialogue choices lock while others open, so how she feels changes the story. The game is single-player with a branching narrative.

Each night you pick which passengers to accept from a list, so you choose whose story to follow. Some riders return on later nights, and building trust with them can lead to new information about Savy and about Capra, the company pushing automated cars across the city.

Passenger stories were written by a team that includes Leigh Alexander, Kim Belair, and Robin Sloan.

It suits players who enjoy character-driven stories, dialogue choices, and near-future science fiction themes.
