Microsoft Office 2013 Standard is a volume-licensed edition of Office 2013 for Windows PCs, released in January 2013. It was designed for businesses and organizations that deploy Office across multiple computers through volume activation, rather than for typical home retail purchases.
The suite includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, and Publisher. It does not include Access, which is only part of the Professional and Professional Plus editions. All apps install locally, so you can work on documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and email without a subscription.
Volume editions are activated differently from consumer copies. Office 2013 Standard can use a Multiple Activation Key (MAK), a Key Management Service (KMS) host, or Active Directory-based activation, depending on how the organization manages licensing. Check which activation method a listing provides before you buy.
Microsoft ended support for Office 2013 on April 11, 2023. The apps still run, but they no longer receive security updates, bug fixes, or technical support, and newer Microsoft 365 services may not connect reliably. For anything security-sensitive, a supported version such as Office 2021, Office 2024, or Microsoft 365 is the safer choice.
On CDKeyCompares, you can compare Office 2013 Standard key prices from several sellers. Read why some software keys are so cheap to understand the licensing behind low prices.
