Overthrown is a city-building and action game developed by Brimstone and published by Maximum Entertainment. After an early access period that began in December 2024, it fully launched on March 18, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

You play as a Monarch who owns an ancient, soul-stealing crown with magical powers. With it, you found a kingdom in a dangerous wilderness, gather resources, farm the land and grow your settlement into a self-sustaining realm. As your fame spreads, more settlers arrive, but so do enemies who want to take your throne.

The crown lets you lift almost anything. You can throw whole trees at a sawmill, carry buildings to new spots or move monster nests next to bandit camps so enemies fight each other. Combat is fast and over the top, with high-speed movement and spinning attacks.

Seasons change the pace, so you need to stockpile food for winter and protect farms and citizens from mutants. Polluting workshops can damage the land, and unhappy citizens may leave to join the outlaws. Up to six players can build and defend a kingdom together in online co-op, or you can play alone offline.

It suits fans of city builders who want more direct action, and groups of friends looking for a relaxed but chaotic co-op building game.
