Pioner is an open-world MMO first-person shooter developed and published by GFAGAMES. It launched in Steam Early Access on December 16, 2025 for PC and is still in development, so content and balance continue to change.

The game is set in an alternate-reality world on a desolate island where Soviet-era buildings lie abandoned. The setting draws on classic science fiction, with anomalies, powerful artifacts, and factions competing for control.

You explore a map of more than 50 square kilometers plus hidden dungeons, scavenging for gear and managing survival needs such as hunger. Pioner favors realism over health bars and character levels, and weapon customization with modules and attachments plays a big part in progression.

PvE content includes a story campaign, faction missions that build loyalty and unlock rewards, and events. PvP happens in special zones called the Shadowlands, where players can fight each other for loot. Side activities like fishing and casino games add variety, and you can team up with others in online co-op to take on tougher missions together.

Pioner suits players who enjoy survival shooters, looting, and the risk of meeting other players in a shared online world. It is an online-only game with in-game purchases, and because it is in Early Access, new areas and systems are still being added through updates.
