Each level shows a locomotive and several loose carriages. You place, remove, and bend track pieces so every carriage joins the engine in the right order and reaches the exit, without any trains crashing into each other. You only have a limited number of track pieces in each level, so finding an efficient layout is part of the challenge. A button starts the train so you can test your solution and fix mistakes.

New mechanics appear as you travel the world, including tunnels that link distant points, timed railway barriers, track switches, and passengers to pick up. Main levels keep a gentle pace, while side branches hold tougher brain teasers for experienced puzzle fans.

Railbound is a single-player game with more than 240 puzzles. A level editor lets you build your own challenges and share them through Steam Workshop, or play puzzles made by other players.
