Revenge of the Savage Planet is a third-person sci-fi action-adventure developed and published by Raccoon Logic Studios. It launched on May 8, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, as the sequel to Journey to the Savage Planet.
After being laid off by a giant corporation and stranded far from home, you explore a set of colorful alien planets. The loop centers on jumping, shooting and scanning your way through each world, finding new gear that opens previously blocked paths.
Standout systems include capturing alien creatures, upgrading your equipment and decorating your own habitat base. Satirical corporate humor runs through the whole game, including live-action commercials.
You can play alone or team up with a friend in two-player co-op, either online or in local split-screen. Steam also lists cross-platform multiplayer support.
Exploration is the core of the experience. Each planet has its own biomes, hostile wildlife and hidden areas, and new tools such as a whip that lets you grapple and swing open up routes you could not reach before. Scanning creatures and plants fills out your catalog, while collected resources go toward crafting upgrades. The game shifts from the first-person view of the original to a third-person camera, making platforming and co-op easier to follow. Optional challenges and side objectives add variety between story goals.
It suits players who enjoy lighthearted exploration, collecting and upgrading, especially those looking for a co-op adventure to share.
