Rose Riddle: Fairy Tale Detective is a casual time-management and resource-gathering game developed and published by Alawar Casual. It was released on Steam on August 22, 2019 for Windows PC.
Each level is a short race against the clock. You collect and manage resources, clear obstacles, finish quests, and unlock the road to the next stage. Planning the order of your tasks, and spending resources wisely, is the key to earning the best rating and finishing before time runs out.
The game offers more than one way to play. A relaxed mode removes the time limits for players who want a calm experience, while a harder mode challenges experienced time-management fans. A step-by-step tutorial and a detailed walkthrough for each level help newcomers.
The story begins when an anonymous letter sends Rose to Route 66 to meet the parents she has never known. A sudden tornado carries her to a fantasy land, where she learns they have been kidnapped. Driving her red convertible, she meets colorful fairy tale characters on the way.
Rose Riddle suits players who like light, family-friendly puzzle and strategy games. It also includes Collector's Edition extras such as downloadable artwork and music, plus in-game achievements to earn as you progress. Levels are short, so it works well for quick breaks as well as longer play.
PC: PC keys activate on Steam. The game is light and runs on almost any Windows computer with about 300 MB of free space.
Series: A follow-up, Rose Riddle 2: Werewolf Shadow, is sold as a separate game. You do not need it to play this one.
Before you buy, check the activation platform and region on each offer, then follow our guide on how to activate your CD key. For screenshots and the full feature list, see the official Rose Riddle Steam page.
