The game is set on a lunar base designed around a retro-futuristic 1980s look, full of chunky terminals and analog technology. When the base goes silent, you arrive to investigate, and curiosity quickly turns into a fight to survive against a threat that sees you as the enemy.

ROUTINE avoids waypoint markers and most on-screen interface elements. You find your way by observing the environment, reading data, and piecing together what happened. Areas range from decaying living quarters and tram stations to an abandoned shopping mall.

The game is single-player. It suits horror fans who prefer atmosphere, exploration, and slow-building dread over action, and players who enjoy figuring things out on their own without hand-holding or objective markers.
