Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma is an action RPG and farming life sim developed by Marvelous and published in the West by XSEED Games and Marvelous. It launched on June 5, 2025 for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC, followed by PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions on February 13, 2026.
The story is set in Azuma, an eastern land shattered by the Celestial Collapse. A massive object struck the region, scattering the land, cutting off the flow of runes, and causing the gods of nature to vanish. You wake up with the powers of an Earth Dancer and set out to purify the Blight and bring hope back.
Daily life mixes farming with adventure. You plant and harvest crops across seasonal farms, then head out to fight corrupted monsters with weapons such as swords, the new Bow, and the Talisman. Sacred treasures and dance-based powers help you purify land and reach new areas.
The biggest change for the series is village building. Instead of tending a single farm, you construct and place buildings to bring people back to several villages, and you revive gods who restore resources to the land. Along the way, you form bonds with a colorful cast of locals, including romance options.
Guardians of Azuma is a single-player game. It suits fans of farming sims who want more action, and RPG players who enjoy slow progression, crafting, and town building.
PC: PC keys usually activate on Steam. The game needs Windows 10 or 11 and about 20 GB of storage.
Consoles: Switch and Switch 2 codes redeem on the Nintendo eShop, PS5 codes on PlayStation Network, and Xbox codes on a Microsoft account.
