Screamer is an arcade racing game developed and published by Milestone, with Plaion handling distribution in some regions. It was released on March 26, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. It is a reboot of the 1995 racing game of the same name and the first new entry in the series since 2000.
Races are fights as well as contests of speed. A mysterious technology called ECHO lets cars switch between Boost, Strike, and Shield. You burst ahead with Boost, slam rivals off the track with Strike, and protect yourself with Shield. Building up power unlocks Overdrive, a short burst where you tear through the field at full force.
The game has a full story mode. Five teams of soldiers, scientists, criminals, superstars, and business magnates enter the Screamer tournament, each chasing a personal goal. Every driver has a car built around their style and a unique ability that changes how they race.
The setting is a neon-lit futuristic world with a strong 90s anime look. Beyond the story, you can race online against other players, with cross-platform multiplayer, or compete locally in split-screen. Adjustable difficulty and accessibility options help new players get started.
Screamer suits fans of fast arcade racers, combat racing, and anime-style storytelling. It is less about realistic driving and more about aggressive, high-speed action.
PC: PC keys activate on Steam. The game needs 64-bit Windows 10 or later and 35 GB of storage.
Consoles: PS5 and Xbox Series X|S codes are redeemed on PlayStation Network or a Microsoft account. There is no PS4 or Xbox One version.
Online play: Online races on PS5 and Xbox need PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass Core (or higher).
Before you buy, check the activation platform and region on each offer, then follow our guide on how to activate your CD key. For more details, see the official Screamer website.
