SimCity 3000 Unlimited is a city-building simulation developed by Maxis and published by Electronic Arts. It first came out in 2000 as an expanded version of SimCity 3000, and EA re-released it on Steam on March 7, 2024 for Windows PC.
As mayor, you zone land for homes, shops, and industry, then build roads, power plants, water systems, and public services to keep the city growing. Advisers and petitioners comment on your choices, and the budget, taxes, and ordinances decide whether residents stay or leave.
Unlimited adds content on top of the original game. You get new Asian and European building sets, 13 scenarios, such as reunifying East and West Berlin, and more than 95 world landmarks to place in your city.
Disasters keep mayors on their toes. There are nine in total, including four new ones such as space junk and a whirlpool. The Building Architect Plus tool lets you design your own buildings, and the Scenario Creator lets you build custom challenges. It is a single-player game.
SimCity 3000 Unlimited suits fans of classic city builders, players who grew up with the series, and anyone who wants a relaxed, low-spec management game before trying modern titles.
PC: Keys activate on Steam or the EA app, depending on the offer, so check which platform each listing uses.
