Sons of the Forest is a first-person survival horror video game developed by Endnight Games. It is the sequel to the 2018 game The Forest. In this game, you are sent to a mysterious island called "Site 2" to find Edward Puffton, a missing CEO, along with his wife and daughter.
After your helicopter crashes, you survive alongside Kelvin, an ex-soldier who helps you with basic tasks. You must gather resources, build shelters, craft weapons, and defend yourself from cannibal tribes and underground mutants. The island is four times bigger than the one in the original game, with huge cave systems, underground bunkers, and ancient structures.
The game features improved AI enemies that change their tactics based on your actions. You can also meet friendly NPCs like Virginia, a three-legged mutant who can become your ally in combat. Sons of the Forest supports up to 8-player cooperative multiplayer, but you can also play solo.
Depending on your choices, the game offers multiple endings. It was released in early access on February 23, 2023, and the full 1.0 version launched on February 22, 2024, on Steam for Windows.
