S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is an intense survival game set in a harsh open world called the Chornobyl Anomalous Zone. The game combines elements of a first-person shooter, immersive sim, and horror.
You play as Skif, a Marine veteran whose apartment was destroyed by an anomaly. To find answers and recharge a mysterious artifact, you sneak into the Zone with a scientist. Things go wrong, and you must survive while deciding the fate of the Zone.
Survival Horror: The Zone is merciless with dangers everywhere—mutants, bandits, wild dogs, and lethal radiation
First-Person Shooter: Tight gunplay with guns that require maintenance, upgrades, and careful ammo management
Open-World Exploration: Explore a war-torn landscape with hidden stashes, legendary artifacts, special weapons, and lore
Non-Linear Story: Missions have multiple endings that interweave to affect the greater story. You can align with different factions for multiple endings.
Anomalies & Artifacts: Deadly anomalies are everywhere, but many contain artifacts that give advantages (often with disadvantages)
A-Life System: Expanded AI system where factions control territories, NPCs fight each other, and enemies can retreat or flank realistically
