State of Decay 3 is an open-world survival game set years after a zombie apocalypse nearly wiped out humanity. Developed by Undead Labs, you play as a community of survivors, manage settlements, and fight an evolving zombie threat gripped by a blood plague.
The game features a massive map 4x larger than State of Decay 2, fully open from the start. You'll reclaim territory, scavenge resources, build settlements, and make critical decisions. If a survivor dies, they're gone forever with their skills (permadeath).
New features include Plague Nests (dynamic enemy hubs with unique behaviors), upgraded combat with quick/power attacks and dodge, evolved zombie types, and "maker culture" weapon crafting, where you upgrade altered weapons. Play solo or with up to 4 friends in online shared world co-op, building up to 3 customizable settlements together.
Built in Unreal Engine 5, State of Decay 3 launches in 2027 on Xbox Series X|S, PC, PlayStation 5, and Steam, included with Game Pass.
