Steel Seed is a third-person sci-fi stealth action-adventure developed by Storm in a Teacup, the studio behind Close to the Sun, and published by ESDigital Games. It released on April 22, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
You play as Zoe, exploring a vast underground facility built by machines for machines after a cataclysm left Earth uninhabitable. Each region, from industrial zones to eerie biodomes, uses environmental storytelling, hazards and hidden secrets to pull you deeper into the mystery.
Gameplay mixes stealth, parkour and combat. You can use shadows and distractions to avoid or quietly remove enemies, or fight a range of enemy types and bosses head-on. Three skill trees with 40 upgrades let you shape Zoe's playstyle over time.
Zoe is joined by KOBY, a prototype flying drone that communicates through chirps and visual cues. KOBY guides you, interacts with the environment to solve puzzles and supports you in fights. The game is single-player only, with no multiplayer or co-op.
Steel Seed suits players who like story-led action-adventures with stealth options, platforming and a dark, atmospheric sci-fi setting.
Activation: PC keys activate on Steam. PS5 codes redeem on PlayStation Network and Xbox Series X|S codes on a Microsoft account.
