Streets of Rogue is a top-down roguelite action RPG developed by Matt Dabrowski and published by tinyBuild. It left Early Access and fully released on July 12, 2019 for Windows, macOS, Linux, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
Instead of a dungeon, each run takes place in a procedurally generated city full of residents with their own routines. On every floor you get mission goals, such as stealing an item or rescuing someone, and you decide how to complete them.
Character choice drives the fun. You can play as a soldier, a stealthy doctor with tranquilizer darts, a smooth-talking bartender, a hacker, or a gorilla who frees other gorillas. Each class has traits that open different solutions to the same mission.
Between runs you spend Chicken Nuggets on upgrades and new options. The game supports up to four players in local or online co-op, plus versus modes, a level editor, and Steam Workshop content on PC.
Floors are grouped into themed districts such as the slums, industrial zone, and uptown, each with tougher guards and new hazards. Optional mutators change the rules of a run to keep later attempts fresh.
A character creator also lets you design your own class by mixing traits, items, and starting abilities.
It suits players who like emergent sandbox play, replayable roguelites, and causing chaos with friends.
Activation: PC keys activate on Steam and run on Windows, macOS, and Linux. Console versions use the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, or Nintendo eShop.
DLC: A Character Pack DLC is sold separately and is optional.
