Suikoden I & II HD Remaster: Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars is a JRPG collection developed and published by Konami. Released on March 6, 2025, it brings the first two Suikoden games to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch, with a Switch 2 version added on June 5, 2025.

Both games use classic turn-based battles with parties of up to six characters, plus large-scale army battles and one-on-one duels at key story moments. A core part of the loop is recruiting the 108 Stars of Destiny, a huge cast of allies who join your cause and fill your headquarters.

The remaster upgrades all background illustrations to HD, refreshes effects around the original pixel art and adds new environmental and battle sound effects. Modern conveniences include auto-save, battle fast forward and a conversation log for catching up on dialogue.

In Suikoden I, a once-heroic emperor has become a tyrant and a Liberation Army rises against his rule. Suikoden II follows a young soldier and his friend Jowy after a fragile truce between the Highland Kingdom and the City-States of Jowston falls apart. Both games are single-player.

The collection suits fans of 1990s JRPGs, political war stories and large casts, as well as newcomers who want to try two well-regarded classics with quality-of-life upgrades.
