Sword of the Necromancer is an action RPG with roguelike elements developed by Grimorio of Games and published by Dolores Entertainment. It was released on January 28, 2021 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, with PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions following in November 2021.
You play as Tama, who wields the forbidden Sword of the Necromancer to bring her companion Koko back from the dead. The path leads down through a procedurally generated dungeon full of monsters and guardians.
The sword's power is the core hook: any monster you defeat can be revived as an ally. You build a small army, equip weapons and relics, and level up both Tama and her summons. Weapons are procedurally generated with different effects and attributes.
Death is not a full reset. You lose equipped gear and monsters but keep half of your level, so each run gets you further. A local co-op mode lets a second player join as a copy of the hero.
Your summoned monsters grow stronger by fighting beside you, so choosing which creatures to keep matters. Relics and items add more options, and powerful guardians block the way at key points in the dungeon. As you go deeper, you also uncover the shared past of Tama and Koko and the legend of the heretic who forged the sword.
It suits players who like short roguelike runs, pixel art, and building a party of summoned creatures.
