Tetris Effect: Connected is a puzzle game developed by Monstars and Resonair and published by Enhance. It first launched on November 10, 2020 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows, then reached Steam in August 2021, Nintendo Switch in October 2021, and PlayStation 5 in February 2023. Owners of the earlier PS4 version received the multiplayer modes as a free update.
At its core it is still Tetris: falling tetrominoes, line clears, and rising speed. What sets it apart is the way music, sound, and visuals react to every move. Each stage has its own song and theme, and rotating or dropping pieces adds beats and effects to the track.
The Zone mechanic is the standout system. Fill the meter, trigger the Zone, and time stops so you can stack and clear many lines at once for big scores. Journey mode takes you through a themed campaign of stages, while Effect modes offer relaxing, score-chasing, and challenge variations.
The Connected update adds multiplayer. Connected mode teams three players against AI bosses, Zone Battle pits players head to head with the Zone system, and Score Attack and Classic Score Attack offer competitive rules. Matches support cross-platform play, and VR is supported on compatible PC and PlayStation headsets.
