The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is a roguelike action shooter developed by Nicalis and Edmund McMillen and published by Nicalis. It was released on November 4, 2014 for PC and PlayStation 4, and later came to macOS, Linux, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. It is a full remake of the 2011 original.

Isaac flees into the basement after his mother believes God has asked her to sacrifice him. Each floor is a randomly generated set of rooms filled with monsters, secrets, and bosses, and you fight by firing tears in twin-stick style. Keys, bombs, and coins found along the way open locked rooms, reveal secrets, and buy items in shops.

Items are the core of the game. More than 450 items change Isaac's look, attacks, and stats, and they stack in unexpected ways, so no two runs play the same. Death is permanent, but completed runs unlock new items, characters, and endings.

Rebirth supports two-player local co-op, and it includes 20 challenge runs and more than 100 special seeds. The remake uses a new engine, hand-drawn pixel art, and a new soundtrack.
