The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe is a first-person narrative adventure developed and published by Crows Crows Crows. It is an expanded reimagining of The Stanley Parable from 2013 and was released on April 27, 2022 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
You play as Stanley, an office worker who discovers that all of his coworkers have vanished. As you explore the building, a British narrator describes what Stanley does, often before you do it. You can follow his story, or you can walk through the other door and see how he reacts.
There is no combat and very little in the way of traditional puzzles. The game is about choices, and every decision leads to a different route and a different ending. Many endings are funny, some are strange, and several comment on how games, rules, and player freedom work.
Ultra Deluxe keeps the original game and adds a large amount of new content, including new areas, new endings, and new jokes that build on what returning players expect. It also brings updated visuals, accessibility options, and support for more languages than the original release.
It is a single-player experience you can finish one run of in minutes, but finding most endings takes a few hours. The game suits players who enjoy witty writing, surprises, and stories that play with the idea of a video game itself.
PC: Most PC keys activate on Steam. The game runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux and needs about 5 GB of storage.
Consoles: Codes redeem on PlayStation Network, a Microsoft account, or the Nintendo eShop, depending on the platform listed.
Original vs Ultra Deluxe: Ultra Deluxe includes the full 2013 game plus all new content, so it is the version to choose.
