The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Hearts of Stone is a story expansion for the open-world RPG The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. It was developed and published by CD PROJEKT RED and released in October 2015 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
You return as Geralt of Rivia, a monster hunter for hire, and take a contract that pulls you into a deal with Gaunter O'Dimm, the enigmatic Man of Glass. The job leads to Olgierd von Everec, a bandit leader cursed with immortality, and to a chain of strange tasks that test what Geralt is willing to trade.
The expansion adds more than 10 hours of new quests set in the existing regions around Novigrad and Oxenfurt. New characters, new monsters, and fresh boss fights join the story, while a new runewright system lets you enhance gear with powerful runewords and glyphwords.
Hearts of Stone is a single-player experience, like the base game. Your choices shape how the main questline ends, and companions such as the scholar Shani play a key role in some of its most memorable scenes.
The expansion suits players who finished the main Witcher 3 story and want a tighter, darker tale with strong writing, tough fights, and meaningful decisions.
Base game required: You need The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on the same platform and account to play this expansion.
PC activation: Most PC keys activate on Steam or GOG. Check the platform named on each offer before buying.
Bundles: Hearts of Stone is also included in the Expansion Pass and in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition, so check whether you already own it.
Offers come from several stores, so compare the edition, platform, and region rather than price alone. Before you buy, check the activation platform and region on each offer, then read our guide on how to activate your CD key. You also need the base game, which you can compare on our The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt page. More details are on the official The Witcher website.
