Turok is a first-person shooter remaster of the 1997 Nintendo 64 classic Turok: Dinosaur Hunter. The original was made by Iguana Entertainment, and this version was restored by Nightdive Studios, which released it on PC on December 17, 2015. It later came to Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

You play as Turok, a time-traveling warrior trapped in the Lost Land, a savage world where past and future collide. The villain known as the Campaigner wants to use the ancient Chronoscepter to break the barriers of time, and Turok must find its eight scattered pieces to stop him.

Gameplay mixes shooting with exploration. Large 3D levels are filled with dinosaurs, soldiers, and other creatures, plus traps, hidden areas, and keys to collect. You can run, jump, and climb in any direction while aiming freely, and your arsenal grows from a knife and bow to heavy energy weapons.

The remaster keeps the original layout and feel but adds high resolution and widescreen support, dynamic lighting, bloom, improved water effects, and fully rebindable controls. The campaign is single-player only, with no online or co-op modes.

Turok suits fans of classic 1990s shooters, players who enjoy exploration-heavy levels, and anyone curious about an influential early console FPS. Players who want more can continue with the separate Turok 2 and Turok 3 remasters.
