Under the Island is a 2D action-adventure game developed by Slime King Games and published by Top Hat Studios. It released on February 17, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
You play as Nia, a young woman who arrives on Seashell Island with her archaeologist parents. The island looks peaceful, but it hides a secret: it is destined to sink beneath the ocean. With her new friend Avocado, Nia sets out to uncover what is going on and save her new home.
The game is played from a top-down view, with a look and feel inspired by '90s adventure games. You explore connected regions, fight monsters in real-time combat, and solve puzzles. Nia starts with a hockey stick as her main weapon, then unlocks new tools and abilities that open paths to hidden areas.
Boss fights and some missions break the usual flow with creative set pieces, which keeps the adventure varied. The game is single-player and supports English, German, Japanese, and Chinese text.
Under the Island suits players who grew up with classic top-down adventures, fans of exploration and secret hunting, and anyone looking for a colorful indie adventure with puzzles and boss fights.
PC (Steam): PC keys activate on Steam. The game runs on Windows 7 or later and needs only 1 GB of storage.
Consoles: Console codes are redeemed on PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, or Nintendo eShop, depending on the version.
Extras: The soundtrack is sold separately on Steam and is not part of the base game key.
Before you buy, check the activation platform and region on each offer, then follow our guide on how to activate your CD key. For store details, see the Under the Island Steam page.
