Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine - Master Crafted Edition is a remaster of the 2011 third-person action shooter, developed by SneakyBox with Relic Entertainment and published by SEGA. It was released on June 10, 2025 for PC and Xbox Series X|S.
You play as Captain Titus of the Ultramarines, sent to an Imperial forge world overrun by a huge Ork invasion. Combat mixes ranged bolter fire with brutal close-quarters melee, so you switch between shooting and chainsword attacks constantly. Health is restored through executions, which pushes you to stay aggressive instead of hiding behind cover.
The remaster adds higher-fidelity textures, 4K resolution support, improved character models, remastered audio and a modernized control scheme with a reworked interface. Gameplay, missions and pacing stay close to the original release, which keeps the classic feel intact for returning players.
The package bundles the original campaign with all previously released DLC, including the Chaos Unleashed Map Pack, Dreadnought Assault, several Chapter Packs, relic weapons and armor sets. The Steam version also lists online multiplayer, online co-op and cross-platform play.
Beyond the Orks, the story slowly reveals a darker Chaos threat hidden on the forge world, leading to larger battles and set-piece fights in the later chapters.
Missions move through the forge world's industrial districts and battlefields, mixing ground combat with jump pack sections that let Titus leap across arenas and crash down onto enemies. Weapons found along the way, such as the bolter, plasma gun, lascannon and heavy bolter, give each fight a different rhythm.
It suits Warhammer 40,000 fans, players who enjoyed Space Marine 2 and want the original story, and anyone looking for a focused, linear action campaign.
