Winter Burrow is a cozy survival adventure developed by Pine Creek Games and published by Noodlecake. It released on November 12, 2025, for PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, and it also launched day one on Game Pass.
You play as a mouse who leaves the big city and returns to find the family burrow in ruins and an aunt who has gone missing. Each day you head out into a snowy forest to gather wood, food and materials, then return home to warm up, cook and rebuild.
Survival is gentle rather than punishing. You manage warmth and hunger, craft tools, knit warm sweaters and bake pies that help you stay out longer in the cold. The burrow itself grows room by room as you restore it, and you can decorate it to your own taste.
The woods hold insect wildlife to avoid or fight, along with friendly locals who share requests and story threads. Completing tasks expands your survival handbook and slowly reveals what happened to your aunt.
Each trip outside is a small expedition. The cold limits how long you can stay out, so planning routes, packing food and knitting warmer clothing becomes part of the strategy. Back home, a warm fireplace, a full pantry and new furniture turn the burrow into a safe base that makes every later outing a little easier.
It is a single-player game played at your own pace, with full controller support and a storybook-inspired art style. It suits fans of cozy games who want a little more challenge and survival structure than a farming sim.
