Yars: Recharged is an arcade shooter developed by Adamvision Studios and SneakyBox and published by Atari. It was released on August 23, 2022 for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, and it is part of the Atari Recharged series.
The game reimagines Yars' Revenge, the 1982 Atari 2600 classic created by Howard Scott Warshaw. You pilot a Yar attacking mechanical enemy hives that fire cannons and swirling missiles. You shoot from range, find safe pockets in the incoming fire, and dart in to nibble away at enemy shields.
Breaking shields builds energy for the Zorlon Cannon, a powerful shot that blasts the core of each hive. Smaller Minor Cores drop power-ups such as rapid fire, explosive rounds, multi-direction shots, and a railgun, so choosing which targets to hit first is part of the strategy.
Arcade mode is a 30-boss rush where three hits ends your run, while Missions mode offers 30 separate boss challenges with one life each and a global leaderboard. You can play alone or with a friend in local co-op, backed by a soundtrack from composer Megan McDuffee.

PC: Most PC keys activate on Steam, and the Steam version runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux.
