Ys X: Proud Nordics is an action role-playing game developed by Nihon Falcom and published in the West by NIS America. It is an expanded version of Ys X: Nordics and was released in the West on February 20, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2, after first launching in Japan in 2025.
You play as the adventurer Adol Christin, partnered with Karja Balta of the Normans, a seafaring people. Sailing the Obelia Gulf aboard the ship Sandras, the pair fight the undying Griegr. Proud Nordics adds a new story on Aland Island, the largest island in the gulf, where they meet the Shield Siblings Canute and Astrid.
Combat is fast and real-time. Adol and Karja can attack and defend together with Cross Actions, and new Mana Actions let you lift and throw objects, open new paths, and glide across land and water with Mana Ride.
New content includes extra bosses, Mana Ride races, arena battles at Bergen Arena, and a challenging timed dungeon. Naval battles at sea return, and the game supports a 120 FPS mode on supported hardware. It is a single-player game.
Ys X: Proud Nordics suits action RPG fans who like quick combat, exploration, and a lighter, adventure-focused story.
PC: Most PC keys activate on Steam. The game needs about 8 GB of storage.
PS5 and Switch 2: Console codes are redeemed on PlayStation Network or the Nintendo eShop. Check the region, since an Asian release is sold separately.
Proud Nordics vs. Nordics: Proud Nordics is the expanded version. The original Ys X: Nordics is a separate, older release.
