Alan Wake 2 is a third-person survival horror game developed by Remedy Entertainment and published by Epic Games Publishing. It released in October 2023 on PC through the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It picks up 13 years after the first game: Alan Wake is still trapped in the Dark Place, a nightmare realm under Cauldron Lake, while a string of ritualistic murders draws FBI agent Saga Anderson to the small town of Bright Falls.
The story is split between two playable characters. As Saga, you investigate crime scenes in the Pacific Northwest, including Bright Falls, the run-down town of Watery and Cauldron Lake, and sort clues on a case board inside your Mind Place. As Alan, you explore a twisted, nocturnal version of New York and rewrite scenes in the Writer's Room to change the world around you. Combat is slower and more deliberate than in the original: ammunition is limited, and you still need your flashlight to strip the darkness from the Taken before you can hurt them. Two expansions, Night Springs and The Lake House, extend the story, and the Deluxe Edition bundles them through the Expansion Pass.
New to the series? Start with Alan Wake Remastered, which covers the original story and its expansions. Comparing offers on an Alan Wake 2 CD key helps you find the lowest price for the Standard or Deluxe Edition. Visit the official Alan Wake 2 website for news and updates.
