ASKA is an open-world survival game with a strong colony-management layer, developed by Sand Sailor Studio and published by Thunderful Publishing. It launched in Early Access on Steam in June 2024 and is still being expanded. You lead a new Viking tribe in a procedurally generated land of forests, caves and ancient landmarks, where seasons change, winters bite and a Blood Moon brings attacks from dark forces.
What sets ASKA apart from most survival games is that you do not build alone. You summon villagers, give them homes, and assign them jobs such as woodcutting, hunting, cooking or blacksmithing. Each villager has needs for food, water and rest, plus perks that make them better at certain roles. As your workforce grows, you design the village layout, raise defenses and build runestones that unlock new options for your tribe. You still explore, fight and craft yourself, so the game mixes hands-on survival with settlement planning.
Fans of Valheim will recognize the Norse setting, while players who liked the building and NPC systems of Enshrouded will find a deeper village-management focus here. An ASKA CD key unlocks the Early Access build plus future updates. Check the official ASKA site for the roadmap.
