Broken Sword 5: The Serpent's Curse is the fifth main entry in the Broken Sword series, developed and published by UK studio Revolution Software. It first launched on PC on December 4, 2013, and later arrived on Mac, Linux and consoles. The story opens in Paris in the spring, when shots ring out at an art gallery. A painting is stolen, a man is killed, and American George Stobbart and French journalist Nico Collard end up tracking a conspiracy whose roots go back further than written history.
This is traditional point-and-click adventure design. You explore hand-painted locations, talk to a fully voiced cast, collect and combine items, and solve logic puzzles and riddles. There are no reflex sections to speak of, so progress depends on observation and reasoning. The score comes from series composer Barrington Pheloung.
The Steam release includes the Definitive Edition additions: an unlockable character gallery, full controller support, extra animations and sound effects, an enhanced UI and a tap-to-continue speech option. A Broken Sword 5 CD key suits longtime fans of George and Nico as well as newcomers who want a story-driven puzzle adventure. Read more on Revolution Software's official game page.
