Broken Sword - Shadow of the Templars: Reforged is a point-and-click adventure developed and published by Revolution Software. It is a remaster of the 1996 original and was released on September 19, 2024 for PC, macOS, Linux, PlayStation, and Xbox, with a Nintendo Switch version following on November 7, 2024.
The story begins with a bombing at a Paris café. American tourist George Stobbart and French journalist Nico Collard team up to investigate, and the trail leads them across Europe and the Middle East into an ancient conspiracy tied to the Knights Templar.
Gameplay centers on exploring scenes, talking to a colorful cast, collecting items, and solving logic puzzles. Every character is fully voiced, and the iconic score by Barrington Pheloung returns with enhanced audio. Restored dialogue from the original scripts and unlockable secrets add something new for returning fans.
The Reforged edition redraws the game in 4K, and you can hot swap between the original and remastered graphics at any time. Optional help includes a story recap, on-demand hints, and automatic highlights, and you can play with a mouse, a controller, or touch controls.
