Bud Spencer & Terence Hill - Slaps and Beans is a side-scrolling beat 'em up developed by Trinity Team and published by Buddy Productions. After an early release on Steam in December 2017, the full game launched on April 20, 2018 for PC, macOS, and Linux, followed by PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch versions in October 2018.
It is the first official video game based on Bud Spencer and Terence Hill, the Italian actors famous for their comedy Westerns and action films of the 1970s and 1980s. You play as the two heroes in a brand-new story that sends them from a Western saloon to downtown Miami and a fairground.
Fights follow the duo's signature film style, with big slaps, funny exchanges, and huge mass brawls. Between fights, platform sections and mini-games break up the action, and the duo's red dune buggy with its yellow top makes an appearance.
You can play alone or team up in local co-op with one player as each character, and Steam also lists split-screen versus play. Retro pixel-art graphics and plenty of humorous dialogue capture the feel of the original movies.
Slaps and Beans suits fans of the films, players who enjoy classic arcade brawlers, and friends looking for a lighthearted couch co-op game.
PC: PC keys activate on Steam, which supports Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Consoles: PS4 codes redeem on PlayStation Network, Xbox One codes on a Microsoft account, and Switch codes on the Nintendo eShop.
Sequel: Slaps and Beans 2 is a separate game, not an expansion, so check the title on each listing.
