Cryptark is a 2D roguelike shooter developed and published by Alientrap, the studio behind Apotheon, with its full Steam release on June 20, 2017. You run a privateering business that earns government contracts by boarding derelict alien arks. Each ship is procedurally generated and defended by cyborg monsters, robots and security systems. Your goal on every mission is to reach and destroy the ship's central System Core.
The strategic layer sets Cryptark apart from most twin-stick shooters. Before each raid you study the ship's layout, see which subsystems protect the core, such as shield generators, repair bays or alarm systems, and decide which to take out first. You then buy a loadout from more than 70 weapons and items, including frag cannons, tractor beams, flamethrowers and nukes. Every purchase eats into your profit, and a failed mission means the investment is lost, so careful planning matters as much as aim. The campaign is built to be replayed, with leaderboards for score chasers, plus local co-op and versus modes listed on Steam. A Cryptark CD key fits players who enjoy tactical roguelikes with tight, fast combat. See the official Cryptark website for more.
