DNF Duel is a 2.5D fighting game based on Dungeon and Fighter, the long-running action RPG from Korean studio Neople. It was co-developed by Neople, Arc System Works and Eighting, published by Nexon, and launched on Steam on June 27, 2022. The base roster has 16 characters drawn from the RPG's classes, including Berserker, Striker, Grappler, Inquisitor, Ranger, Kunoichi, Enchantress, Crusader and an unlockable hidden character, each fighting across eight stages set in the world of Arad.
Matches revolve around resource management. Special skills draw from an MP gauge instead of a traditional super meter, and a White Damage gauge tracks recoverable health, so knowing when to press and when to back off matters. At low health, characters can trigger Awakening effects that change their strength in the final stretch of a round. Modes cover online Ranked and Player Matches, offline Story, Arcade, Survival and Free Battle, plus Training and Tutorial modes for newcomers. Arc System Works fans who play Guilty Gear Strive will recognize the studio's anime-style 3D visuals. Extra fighters arrived later as paid DLC, with a Season Pass available on Steam.
