DOOM + DOOM II is a combined re-release of id Software's 1993 and 1994 first-person shooters, rebuilt by id Software and Nightdive Studios on the KEX engine and published by Bethesda Softworks in August 2024. It replaced the separate enhanced ports and is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch.
The package is large for its price. Alongside both original campaigns you get TNT: Evilution, The Plutonia Experiment, Master Levels for DOOM II, No Rest for the Living, John Romero's Sigil and Legacy of Rust, a brand-new episode made by id Software, Nightdive Studios and MachineGames. In total it holds 187 mission maps and 43 deathmatch maps. Modern additions include online cross-platform co-op and deathmatch for up to 16 players, local split-screen for four, an in-game mod browser, 4K support with multithreaded rendering and a choice between the original MIDI music and Andrew Hulshult's IDKFA soundtrack. The original DOS versions are also included on Steam.
This is the easiest way to play where the series began before moving to Doom 3 BFG Edition or the modern DOOM Eternal. A DOOM + DOOM II CD key usually sells for very little at trusted shops. Full details are on the official Steam page.
