Edge of Eternity is a turn-based role-playing game inspired by classic Japanese RPGs, developed by Midgar Studio, a small independent team based in Nimes, France, and published by Nacon. After a period in Early Access, the full game launched on Steam on June 8, 2021, and console versions followed on PlayStation and Xbox.
The story takes place on Heryon, a planet torn apart by an endless war after a mysterious alien force arrived. The invaders released the Corrosion, a disease that turns living beings into misshapen abominations. You follow the young soldier Daryon and his sister Selene as they search for a cure across a large fantasy world mixing magic and technology. The developers list more than 50 hours of gameplay.
Battles use a strategic turn-based system in which positioning on the battlefield matters, backed by a crafting system and a beast companion you can befriend and ride. Yasunori Mitsuda, known for Chrono Trigger and Xenoblade Chronicles, contributes to the soundtrack. An Edge of Eternity CD key unlocks the PC version on Steam. It suits players who enjoy long, story-heavy JRPGs with tactical combat.
Screenshots, DLC and reviews are on the official Edge of Eternity Steam page.
