Foundry is a first-person factory building and automation game developed by Channel 3 Entertainment and published by Paradox Interactive. It launched in Steam Early Access on May 2, 2024. You land on an unexplored planet under the direction of your AI companion, Carl, and set out to build a giant automated robot production facility. The end goal is galactic industrial domination through interplanetary trade networks.
The world is a procedurally generated, infinite voxel map with jungles, mountain ranges and plains, plus more to find underground. Grid-based construction lets you place machines anywhere, from deep below the surface to high in the sky, and you can sculpt the terrain block by block. Progress starts with manual mining and crafting, then moves to conveyor belts, pipes, elevators and long-distance transport networks. Research unlocks faster technology, and a power system must keep up with demand. Bottlenecks are the main enemy, so balancing inputs and outputs is the core skill.
Foundry fits players who enjoy automation games like Satisfactory but prefer a voxel world they can reshape freely. A Foundry CD key unlocks the Early Access build on Steam, and a Founder's Edition Upgrade is sold separately.
