Gears of War: Reloaded is a third-person shooter developed by The Coalition and published by Xbox Game Studios. It was released on August 26, 2025 for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5, bringing the original 2006 Gears of War to PlayStation for the first time.

You play as Marcus Fenix, a soldier pulled back into Delta Squad as humanity fights the Locust Horde on the planet Sera. Combat is built around taking cover, flanking, and timing reloads, with the chainsaw bayonet on the Lancer rifle as the series' signature weapon.

The remaster targets 4K resolution with 60 FPS in the campaign and 120 FPS in multiplayer, and up to 144 FPS on capable PC displays. All post-launch content is included at no extra cost, including a bonus campaign act, every multiplayer map and mode, and classic characters and cosmetics.

The campaign supports two-player co-op, with split-screen on consoles (not on PC or handhelds). Versus multiplayer supports up to eight players, and cross-play works across all platforms. Cross-progression and cross-platform invites require a Microsoft account.

It suits players who missed the original, longtime fans who want a modern version, and PlayStation owners new to the series.

• Activation: PC keys activate on Steam or the Microsoft Store. Console codes redeem on a Microsoft account or PlayStation Network.

• Content: There is one edition, and it already includes all post-launch DLC.

• Ultimate Edition owners: Players who bought the digital Gears of War: Ultimate Edition before May 5, 2025 received Reloaded free on Xbox.
