Generation Zero is an open-world stealth-action shooter developed by Systemic Reaction, a label of Avalanche Studios, and published by Avalanche Studios. It launched on March 26, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game takes place in Östertörn, a fictional Swedish region inspired by the Cold War era, where mysterious and lethal machines have taken over. Your task is to survive, fight back and find out what happened.
Combat is guerrilla warfare against sophisticated machine enemies, so picking your battles matters as much as aim. You scavenge parts from destroyed machines, then use them to craft equipment, weapons and ammunition. As you gain experience you grow stronger, and you can build and fortify bases across the island to start taking the region back. The large map hides danger in streets, forests and military bunkers. You can play alone or with up to three friends in seamless online co-op.
Generation Zero fits players who like systemic open-world shooters from the studio behind Just Cause 3. A Generation Zero CD key unlocks the base game on Steam, and more than 20 DLC packs, including the Alpine Unrest and FNIX Rising expansions, are sold separately.
