GEX Trilogy is a collection of the three Gex games that Crystal Dynamics released in the 1990s, rebuilt by Limited Run Games with its Carbon Engine. It launched on June 16, 2025, on PC and consoles. The package holds the original 2D platformer that debuted on the 3DO, plus the 3D follow-ups Gex: Enter the Gecko and Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko. Gex is a TV-obsessed gecko who gets pulled into the Media Dimension, so every level parodies a film or TV genre, from horror and kung fu to cartoons and sci-fi.
The goal is to keep each game as you remember it while fixing what aged badly. The 3D entries get rebuilt 360-degree analog controls (the old 8-way controls stay as an option), higher resolution and native 16:9 widescreen. All three games support rewind and save-anywhere, and the 2D original adds CRT filters, borders and screen-size options. A museum section collects key art, classic TV commercials, a music player with every track and a new interview with Dana Gould, the voice of Gex.
The collection suits fans of 90s mascot platformers and anyone who enjoyed the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy. A GEX Trilogy CD key unlocks all three games. Visit the official GEX Trilogy website for more details.
